The large silo was the area's largest industrial building. In many ways it had been easiest to tear down the huge silo and then build something new from scratch. But the silo was an important landmark for the area, and it told an important story about the industrial port of Nordhavn.

Spectacular rooms

The special requirements for grain storage and processing have resulted in some very spectacular rooms, where, the existing room height is preserved from floor level to floor level and, for that reason, varies a lot.

In the 38 apartments The Silo houses, there is a minimum of 3.5 m to the ceiling, some of which, for example, the so-called cathedral at the top of The Silo, have an impressive height of 8 m. At the same time, the raw concrete has been preserved inside so that you feel the old industrial building. The historical structure is preserved, and each apartment and every room is unique.

Junckers Oak plank floors

In 3 of the 38 apartments, the exclusive wide Boulevard plank from Junckers is installed in the wood specie Oak. The floor is glued to the subfloor and then treated with white oil onsite.
